Plain-language summary: YTmate saves your checklist and video title only in your own browser. We never see this data and it is never sent anywhere. However, our hosting provider (our hosting provider) automatically records technical data such as IP addresses when you visit this website โ€” as is standard practice with all web hosting. This policy explains all of that in full.

1. Who We Are

YTmate is a free tool for YouTube creators, operated by Niladri from Nexus Orb trading as Nexus Orb, based in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

For the purposes of applicable data protection law, Niladri from Nexus Orb is the Data Controller โ€” meaning we determine the purposes and means of processing personal data in connection with this website.

2. Information We Collect

We collect two distinct categories of information, through very different mechanisms:

2a. Server Log Data (Collected Automatically by Our Hosting Provider)

When you visit YTmate, our web hosting provider our web hosting service provider automatically records standard server access log data. This is industry-standard practice for all web servers and cannot be disabled at the site level. This data includes:

This data is processed by our hosting provider as a data processor acting on our behalf, in accordance with their

2b. App Functionality Data (Stored Locally in Your Browser Only)

The YTmate checklist app uses your browser's localStorage to save your progress between page loads. This data is stored exclusively on your own device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. This includes:

  • Checklist state โ€” which items you have ticked (stored as true/false flags per item ID)
  • Video title โ€” the title text you type into the Video Title field
  • Session timer โ€” a future timestamp indicating when your session will auto-reset
Important: We โ€” Niladri from Nexus Orb โ€” have no access to your localStorage data at any time. It exists only on your device and is automatically cleared after 4 hours of inactivity, or when you click the Reset button, or when you clear your browser's site data.

2c. Information You Do Not Provide

We do not ask for, collect, or store: your name, email address, account credentials, payment information, location data, or any other personally identifiable information beyond what is described above.

3. How We Use Information

Server Log Data

  • Ensuring the security and stability of the website
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical errors
  • Preventing abuse, spam, and denial-of-service attacks
  • Complying with legal obligations (e.g. court orders)
  • Aggregated, anonymised traffic analysis to understand how the tool is being used

App Functionality Data (localStorage)

  • Restoring your checklist progress when you return to the page within the 4-hour session window
  • Displaying the video title you entered in the sticky title field
  • Tracking the session timer for the auto-reset feature

This data is never used for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For users in the European Union, United Kingdom, and other jurisdictions where the GDPR or equivalent law applies, our legal bases for processing are:

Data TypeLegal BasisArticle Reference
Server log data (IP addresses, access logs)Legitimate Interests โ€” maintaining server security and stabilityGDPR Art. 6(1)(f)
App localStorage dataStrictly Necessary โ€” without this storage the core functionality of the app cannot workePrivacy Directive (implemented locally); GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)
Legal complianceLegal Obligation โ€” where required by applicable lawGDPR Art. 6(1)(c)

We have conducted a Legitimate Interests Assessment (LIA) for server log processing and concluded that our interest in maintaining a secure and functional website does not override the rights and freedoms of individual visitors, particularly given the limited nature of the data collected and the standard nature of web server logging.

5. Data Retention

Server Log Data

Server access logs are retained by our hosting provider in accordance with their standard data retention policies, which typically range from 30 to 90 days. After this period, logs are deleted or anonymised. We do not independently retain server log data beyond what our hosting provider holds on our behalf.

App localStorage Data

Data stored in your browser's localStorage is retained only until one of the following occurs:

  • 4 hours have elapsed since you last left or closed the page (automatic reset)
  • You click the Reset button within the app
  • You manually clear your browser's site data or localStorage
  • You clear all browsing data for this site

6. Third-Party Service Providers

We use one third-party service in the operation of this website:

Our Web Hosting Provider

This website is hosted through a third-party web hosting service. When you visit any website, the server automatically records standard access log data โ€” this is a technical function of how the web works and is not unique to this site.

  • Role: Data processor โ€” provides the server infrastructure on which this website runs
  • Data processed: Server access logs as described in Section 2a
  • GDPR compliance: Our hosting provider complies with applicable data protection laws as part of their standard service terms
We do not share your data with any other third parties. There are no advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, data brokers, or analytics platforms on this website.

7. Cookies

The YTmate application itself does not set any cookies. We use browser localStorage exclusively for app functionality, and localStorage is technically distinct from cookies โ€” it is not transmitted with HTTP requests and cannot be accessed by our server.

However, Our hosting provider may set technical or session cookies as part of normal server infrastructure management (for example, load balancing or security functions). These are strictly necessary operational cookies and are not used for tracking or advertising. Please refer to

8. No Third-Party Tracking or Analytics

YTmate does not use:

  • Google Analytics or any analytics platform
  • Facebook Pixel or other social media tracking scripts
  • Advertising networks or retargeting scripts
  • Heatmap or session-recording tools (e.g. Hotjar, FullStory)
  • A/B testing or personalisation platforms
  • Any third-party JavaScript libraries loaded from external CDNs (no Google Fonts, no jQuery CDN, etc.)

All code on this page is self-contained. The only external network request made when you visit this page is the initial HTTP request to our hosting provider's servers to load the page itself.

9. International Data Transfers

Server log data processed by our hosting provider may be transferred to and stored in countries outside your own, including outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom. Our hosting provider implements appropriate safeguards for international transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission. For details of specific transfer mechanisms, refer to

App localStorage data is never transferred internationally or in any other way โ€” it remains on your device only.

10. Children's Privacy

YTmate is a professional tool intended for adult content creators. It is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in EU jurisdictions where a higher age applies under GDPR Article 8).

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used this service and data has been collected, please contact us at the details in Section 17 and we will take appropriate action.

11. Your Rights โ€” GDPR (EU / UK)

  • Delete personal information we have collected
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information)

13. Your Rights โ€” India DPDP Act 2023

  • Grievance redressal โ€” to have complaints acknowledged and addressed
  • Nominate another person to exercise rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity

The DPDP Act requires a lawful basis for processing personal data and mandates that data is processed only for specified, clear purposes. Our processing of server log data is limited to the legitimate purpose of maintaining website security and functionality, consistent with DPDP obligations.

15. Complaints and Supervisory Authorities

If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority:

We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns before you approach a supervisory authority. Please contact us first using the details in Section 17.
